Sefeko is a real-time guard monitoring system.

Guards are equipped with handheld units that are used to scan RFID tags during their guard route. Guard route information is sent in real time to the Sefeko server via the GSM network.

Real time guard route information is processed by the Sefeko server to alert managers about any exceptions detected. Exception reports are sent via SMS or e-mail. The system sends daily, weekly and monthly guard activity reports via e-mail. The Sefeko system uses a web interface to allow managers to configure guard route information and alerts.

Sefeko provides a means to monitor guards in the performance of their duties as well as additional safety precautions such as panics and alerts when guards are under threat.

• Alerts are sent when a guard fails to start his route on time or miss route points.
• Sefeko sends reports on guard activities that can be used for service level agreement (SLA) reporting.
• Measurement of guard reaction times to alarms.
• Sefeko handsets are equipped with a panic button that will send SMS alerts when a guard is under threat.
• Sefeko handset reminds guard when to start with his guard route.
• Alerts are sent to managers if a guard does not reach his next route point in the expected time.

Guards are equipped with Sefeko handheld units. The number of units required depends on the amount of guards that will be deployed to the site. In order to use the Sefeko system managers will need internet access to the system. Reports are sent via e-mail in pdf format. Alerts are sent via SMS to cellular telephones.

The Sefeko system has the following costs:

• Handheld device cost (monthly hire or once off purchase)
• GSM data cost (SMS and GPRS data usage)
