GRADUATE PROGRAMME
Your first year is for finding out what you enjoy and do best.
Three months of formal training, then the thrill of joining a commercial team. You'll work on real systems that go live, beside engineers, computer scientists, designers and executives invested in seeing you grow.
Graduate Software Engineer
After a thorough three month training programme, you'll ship real code into systems businesses genuinely depend on. The kind that stay live and keep growing for years, not a demo forgotten by Friday. You'll sit beside team members who are there for every question, big or small. A live system that keeps moving forward with your contributions and you grow more capable with every release.
The Work - You'll start with a structured three month graduate programme alongside a group of fellow graduates, building technical foundations, developing your business and communication skills, and learning from mentors with years of experience across diverse industries. Then you join your team, take your seat next to experienced people who are invested in seeing you grow, and start working on challenges that matter. Your code goes live. You learn from every release and from the people around you who help you understand not just what to build but why it matters, the business value and the technical reasoning behind every decision.
You'll thrive here if - you learn fastest by building the real thing, you'd rather learn in person alongside a great team than figure it out on your own, and you're choosing somewhere to grow for years, not a stepping stone for months.
Because the best careers don't plateau - they compound.
Graduate UXUI Developer and/or Designer
Design and build interfaces real people use to get real work done - a field agent with no signal, a pharmacist mid-shift, a driver who can't look twice. Your work ships, you learn by doing beside designers and engineers who give honest feedback the moment you need it, and across your first year you'll discover where your best work lives. Good design only counts once it's in someone's hands; here it gets there fast - and into hands that really need it.
The Work - You'll learn the craft on real products - research, interaction design, UI and the front-end to make it real - beside designers and engineers who review your work and tell you the why. You'll design for people working in tough, real-world conditions, see your decisions ship and get used, and explore where your strengths lie across your first year.
You'll thrive here if - you care more about whether something works for the person using it than whether it photographs well, you want feedback fast and in person, and you're excited to design for real users with real constraints rather than a portfolio.
Because design only counts once it's in someone's hands.
Graduate Electronic Engineer
Start with a three month graduate programme alongside a group of fellow graduates, building technical foundations, developing an understanding of who Gendac is and how we work, and learning from mentors with years of experience across diverse industries.
Then join your commercial team, take your seat next to experienced engineers who are invested in seeing you grow, and start working on challenges that matter.
The Work - involves creating advanced electronic products, sometimes entire ecosystems, that industries depend on to operate. You'll do this guided by engineers who've cracked tough challenges before and know what to watch out for.
You'll thrive here if - you enjoy learning by building the real thing, you'd rather be in the room with engineers who'll teach you than figuring it out alone, and you're choosing somewhere to grow for years, not a stepping stone for months.
Because the best careers don't plateau, they compound.
Graduate Talent Connector
Give someone the start that becomes a career, not just a job. The people Gendac looks for are specific. Brilliant minds who love working in teams, who understand the benefit of working in person, and who take the long term view. They're not the easiest people to find. You'll learn what they look like, learn the craft of finding them, and years later you'll see what that connection made possible.
The Work - You'll start by getting to know Gendac from the inside. The people, the work across diverse industries, and what it actually means to belong here. That understanding becomes the foundation for everything else. From there you'll be part of a brand new team finding and connecting people to Gendac, learning to sense when someone belongs here, and supporting the process that brings them through the door. The role isn't about volume. It's about finding a very specific kind of person and recognising them when you do.
You'll thrive here if - you're energised by the journey of finding the right person, not just the outcome, your love for people keeps you going when the right ones are hard to find, and you want to do this work in person beside a team that is as invested in finding the right people as you are.
Because the right person in the right place changes everything that follows.
Graduate Embedded Engineer
Write the firmware that brings hardware to life - the code on the microcontroller that makes a rugged radio talk, a fuel meter measure, and a connected device behave when it's far from the nearest screen. Early on you'll learn beside engineers who've shipped firmware running in thousands of devices today, reviewing your work and explaining the why, and you'll watch your code move something in the real world.
The Work - You'll learn embedded for real - firmware on microcontrollers, talking to sensors and peripherals through drivers, handling communications, and writing code that stays reliable on constrained hardware - always under senior engineers who guide and review your work. You'll take small, mentored features from idea to running on a board, and explore where your strengths lie across your first year.
You'll thrive here if - you like code that moves something in the physical world, you enjoy the puzzle of doing a lot with very little memory and power, and you learn fastest with someone experienced beside you - in Pretoria, in person.
Code that fails gets a stack trace. Firmware that fails gets a service call — and that's what makes this worth learning properly.
Graduate Digital and/or Graphic Designer
Design the visuals that carry a brand - the social posts, campaign graphics, presentations and case-study layouts that decide how a company is seen before a word is read. From early on you'll create real work that goes out into the world, learning beside designers who review your work and explain the why, and you'll watch what you made shape how people see the brand.
The Work - You'll learn the craft on real briefs - layout, typography, colour and the brand system behind them - across digital and print, always under senior designers who guide and review your work. You'll take small pieces from idea to published, get a feel for how a brand holds together across channels, and explore where your strengths lie across your first year.
You'll thrive here if - you notice the details most people miss - the kerning, the alignment, the one colour that's off - you learn fastest with an experienced designer beside you, and you want your work seen and used, not just marked.
Because a brand is judged in the first second, long before anyone reads a word.
